Amar Bose, inventor of Bose audio systems, dies at 83

Boston: The Massachusetts-based audio technology has lost its founder and chairman, Amar Bose. He was 83.

His death was announced by company president Bob Maresca and Massachusetts Institute of Technology where Bose was on the faculty for 40 years and where he began his research into acoustics.

The cause of his death has not been announced as of yet.

The company was founded by Bose in 1964.
