Earlier this week, Samsung sent out invites for the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India. While the event is scheduled for March 23, the smartphones areexpected to go on sale only on April 10. In the meantime, Flipkart too has got onto the teaser bandwagon with its latest Facebook post.
The Facebook post quite evidently shows the sides of the Galaxy S6 Edge, alongside the caption, “What’s next?’ It is a not-so-subtle indication that Samsung’s forthcoming smartphones will be on sale via the e-commerce site.
As mentioned above, Samsung is hosting an event where it is set to launch the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India. The smartphones were unveiled at the company’s Unpacked event at MWC earlier this month. As compared to its predecessors, the new smartphones boast plenty of metals, and thus upped their premium factors.
To recap on the specifications, the Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch QHD display, Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability and 3GB of RAM. Also included are 32/64/128GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a non-removable 2,550mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box wrapped under an overhauled TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy S6 Edge, on the other hand, boasts a curved display with the sides acting as a secondary display where you can view notifications and launch applications with one hand. As for the design, it boasts a body made out of Gorilla Glass 4 and metal. As for specifications, they are identical to the Galaxy S6, albeit with a few changes.
