Lava has launched a new budget smartphone, the Iris 414, listing it on its site with a price of Rs. 4,049. There is no official word on the availability of the Lava Iris 414; however, we expect the company will announce the availability of the smartphone in the coming days.
The Lava Iris 414 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 4-inch (480x800 pixels) WVGA TFT display, and is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM.
The Iris 414 comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 3.2-megapixel rear fixed-focus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.
On the connectivity front, the Lava Iris 414 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1400mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 12 hours of talk time and up to 126 hours of standby time on 2G networks. It measures 120x63.4x10.4mm, weighs 110 grams and is listed in Black colour.
Lava, earlier this month, expanded its Iris Fuel range with the launch of the Iris Fuel 10 and Iris Fuel 25 smartphones. The new Lava Iris Fuel 10 and Lava Iris Fuel 25 have been launched at Rs. 6,541 and Rs. 5,666 respectively.
The domestic handset maker started pushing out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its recently launched Iris X1 Grand smartphone, which shipped with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The company is expected to roll out the latest Android update to more of its Iris range smartphones.
