Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India tomorrow. While they are not expected to go on sale before April 10, reviews of the forthcoming smartphones have started surfacing online. The two handsets have left reviewers impressed, who are unanimous in their views that these mark a huge step up for Samsung.
Before we move on to the review videos, here’s a short recap of the specifications of both the smartphones. The Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch QHD display, Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability and 3GB of RAM. Also included are 32/64/128GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a non-removable 2,550mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box wrapped under an overhauled TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy S6 Edge, on the other hand, boasts a curved display with the sides acting as a secondary display where you can view notifications and launch applications with one hand. As for the design, it boasts a body made out of Gorilla Glass 4 and metal. As for specifications, they are identical to the Galaxy S6, albeit with a few changes.
Samsung Galaxy S6 reviews
UK tech site Recombu and Android Authority have posted reviews of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and both are equally impressed with the flagship. The positives include a gorgeous display, great performance, camera, fingerprint sensor and most importantly the build quality. These positives far outweigh the cons that include a smudge-loving glossy body, and the company’s decision to do away with a removable battery, expandable storage and water resistant capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge reviews
The Edge variant has been reviewed by the folks at BeginnersTech and MobileSyrup. The positives of the Galaxy S6 continue over to the Edge variant as well. In essence these include the build quality, performance, camera and the curved display. But the variant has its share of negatives as well, and the latter especially claims that it is not as comfortable to hold as the Galaxy S6.
